START Fellowship Talks
START Fellowship candidates are invited to Munich to present their research proposals and for interviews. This also gives them the opportunity to discover the research environment in Munich and to get to know the MCQST community.
As first part of the program, the candidates will present themselves, their previous work as well as their research proposal for their START projects.
All talks are open to the entire MCQST community.
In the afternoon, the program continues with interviews in closed sessions.
9:00 a.m.: Cambyse Rouzé from TU Munich on "Quantifying decoherence in quantum lattice systems"
9:30 a.m.: Laurens Vanderstraeten from Ghent Univ. on "Simulating two-dimensional quantum matter with tensor networks"
10:00 a.m.: Daniel Malz from MPQ on "Quantum simulation with subwavelength atomic arrays"
10:30 a.m.: Coffee Break
11:00 a.m.: Christoph Kastl from TU Munich on "Light-matter dynamics in atomistic and topological solid-state nanosystems"
11:30 a.m.: Nathan Wilson from Univ. of Washington on "Exciton superlattices in van der Waals heterostructures"
12:00 p.m.: Nadezhda Kukharchyk from Saarland Univ. on "Microwave quantum memory: adapting optical techniques"
12:30 p.m.: Marek Pechal from IBM Zurich on "Systematic design of superconducting qubit couplers"
We look forward to see you there, and we wish all candidates the best of luck for their applications!
